CASA Examinations

Aviation Medical Eye Assessments

Individual Eyes Optometry provides CASA ophthalmic examinations for aviation professionals requiring eye assessments as part of their Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) medical requirements.

Our optometrist, Wayne Derrick, is credentialed to perform CASA eye examinations and provide the necessary reports to support aviation medical assessments. Whether you're a private pilot, commercial pilot, or aviation professional, we offer comprehensive eye examinations tailored to CASA requirements.

Before Your Appointment

If you wear prescription glasses, please bring:

  • Your primary pair of glasses

  • Your standby or spare pair of glasses

  • Any contact lenses you regularly wear

During the examination, dilating eye drops may be required. These drops temporarily enlarge the pupils to allow a more detailed assessment of your eye health.

As a result, you may experience:

  • Increased sensitivity to light

  • Temporary blurred vision

  • Difficulty focusing for several hours after the examination

For your comfort and safety, we recommend arranging for someone to drive you home following your appointment.
